Yes. The Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare meets Defra requirements for Licensing of Activities Involving Animals. The qualification is suitable for anybody who runs their own dog walking business or works alongside a higher standards license holder in boarding and day-care.

Who can join the qualification?

The Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare has been created with professionals in mind. The aim of the qualification is to prepare people who work with dogs to understand the importance of care and welfare in a physiological and behavioural context.

The qualification can be studied by anyone with an interest in Canine Welfare. Subjects and terminology require no prior knowledge and will be introduced in a logical progression.

Are there any course requirements?

  • The minimum age for access to this qualification is 16 years+

How is the qualification assessed?

The Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare is a regulated qualification assessed to awarding body standards through the creation of an evidence portfolio. All module assessments are presented in the form of an essay and range between 300 - 1000 words each.


On successful completion of all assessment questions, you will receive a certificate of qualification from AIM Qualifications and Assessment, an Ofqual regulated awarding body.
