Dr. Jessica Pierce is a Faculty Affiliate at the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School. She has been writing and lecturing about the moral contours of human-dog relationships for over 15 years and is a leading scholar in animal ethics. She has published 11 books, including The Last Walk and Run, Spot, Run, as well as hundreds of scholarly and popular articles. Her work has been published in the New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Guardian.
