

Join Sally Gutteridge to explore the learning experience of the dog exposed to common training practices in pet dog homes and within professional training and behaviour environments. This work summarises learning theory of classical conditioning and operant conditioning. We consider studies on the canine brain and what is currently known about emotional responses, fear, stress and neurotransmitters along with how the most common training methods affect the dog’s psychological wellness.
Sally Gutteridge has been a full-time educational writer since 2015, holding a variety of canine certifications up to level 5/6. She is a former professional Dog Trainer with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, a former instructor with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, and has much rescue experience.
